Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial infection that usually spreads via the respiratory route, affecting the lungs; however, it can also affect other organs.
TB occurs throughout the world but the incidence in some African and Asian countries is particularly high. The risk of exposure depends on the destination of travel, the duration of the trip, the environment the traveller will be spending their time in and the activities that the travellers will be engaged in during their travel.
BHI offers pre-travel and post-travel TB screening, as well as TB screening for Visa and employment purposes.
